Congratulations on your newborn’s arrival! My desire is to welcome your newest blessing and to bless you with many poses that you and your family and friends can enjoy. No strings attached. Since photographing babies is one of my passions, I have chosen to get involved in the best way, volunteer! I hope that you will enjoy your session.
Your Session
Newborn Photography is being offered at no charge to parents of babies from 0-2 weeks old. I have three types of session that should be easy for you to use.
1. Arrangements can be made for me to be present at the birth of your baby to capture those first wonderful minutes of life with you and your newborn. Please be aware that I will have to abide by facility rules.
2. My Studio is located 7 miles up Carmen Creek and a scheduled appointment can be made.
3. Home sessions are encouraged for those who love natural light photography. I will schedule a time to arrive at your home and set up. This style of session will require plenty of large window light.
Newborns are my favorite age to photograph. My best days with my camera, are the days that I get to photograph a fresh little newborn. Capturing those tiny features, fuzzy hair, and all that is new about them, will allow you to always cherish those amazing memories of when you first met.
When to Schedule
The best time for you to contact me is before your baby arrives. I will then add you to my schedule when your due date is expected. Once your baby arrives, then, within the first week is the best time to schedule your session. The first week works best to get peaceful sleepy and very curly poses. After two weeks of age, they are more likely to be disturbed while sleeping, and don’t hold the sweet womb-like poses as well and have their own ideas about what they want they will allow.
It’s not uncommon for the session with a newborn to last 1-3 hours, allowing plenty of time to feed and comfort.
I will be taking as many poses as your newborn allows and all acceptable poses will be posted in your web album for you to view. Parents of newborns will receive at no charge, 2-5 x 7 prints of your choice for you to cherish, plus a web album birth announcement posted with all proofs posted on a link that will be emailed to you.
The following business day after your session, I like to post a few sneak peek images on my blog. Please let me know if you would rather not have them posted there. You will be emailed a link with the rest of your proofs within 5 business days of your session depending on workload at the time. Your link will be active for 2 weeks, so please make all orders within that time.
Your Free Prints
Please call or email me within 2 weeks of your session with your choice of 2 poses for your free 5 x 7 prints. Each proof will be assigned an IMG_file number for you to reference. I will send them directly to you via USPS or deliver them to town at no charge. This will usually be within 2 weeks of the time of order. Family and friends are welcome to order prints and all ordering information will be emailed along with the proofs link. Specially designed 5×7 announcements in a can be purchased for $4.00 each including envelopes. Also, I would he happy to email an image of your choice to go along with your newborn’s birth announcement to the newspaper of your choice. Just let me know.
